Media Magic: Reaping Benefits. A quick look at a major advertising/media client and their focus on “benefits led” change programmes.
We are seeing a distinct move towards more “benefits led” change programmes and that is filtering through to the assurance tasks we are being set.
One of our media clients who operate in a super competitive market on a global basis are getting excellent feedback from shareholders and the market on their new focus on this aspect of change.
With a multi stream business generating revenue of over £10billion per annum the organisation has always had the need for effective and efficient change and has spent a lot of money to achieve that.
We advised on one of their most innovative programmes that was looking to impact every region, every client and every facet of their business universe. It was decided at an early stage that because the programme was going to be directly in the corporate spotlight in terms of costs and outcomes that a benefits led approach would be best.
After initial proof of concept, every development and feature was directly linked to a business benefit. The benefits were quantified and time framed. Pelicam has worked closely to help the programme director to produce an assurance package that can be seen as independent to give business sponsors and users explicit confirmation that benefits claimed are valid and real.
The combination of this dynamic assurance combined with a true discipline in the programme to always self-check value and benefits is proving transformational.
