Flexible solution needed to meet dynamic business demand

Challenging systems architecture, mix of old and new technologies with complex legacy platforms, multiple suppliers and limited test resources. The approach across teams was inconsistent, with old and no longer ‘fit for purpose’ processes and no ‘ownership.’ Prudential needed to create a flexible workforce to meet peaks and troughs of business demand. 

A long journey to re-skilling and re-organising the teams

Pelicam undertook a strategic review of Prudential’s testing services, benchmarking performance against competitors, and highlighting opportunities to improve and deliver the strategic roadmap. Pelicam’s core testing specialists (ISTQB and ISEB certified) were able to quickly assess the situation, explaining test deficiencies, helping shape the solution with the senior management team, and supporting the internal team in implementing effective on-going change from within.

Re-sized and re-skilled to meet future demands

• Established Prudential Testing Services, Steering Group and Test Management Office to ensure best practice, ownership and improve organisational integration.

• Uplifted test design planning and execution controls and practices.

• Built a central view of test pipeline and demand/supply obligations (do-ability and capacity).

• Built an improved performance view (progress metrics, resource performance) and governance.

• Changes embedded within team through key principles and Centres of Excellence to ensure long-term improvement.
