‘Getting stuff done’……is our take on a well-known brand’s “Just Do It”.
At one level, it sounds easy to say, a bit glib. However, when you are dealing with multi-million/billion-pound programmes, getting to the heart of the big challenges and addressing them quickly can save a LOT of time and money. It can also build team and organisation morale in a way that will propel a business forward.
"The guys at Pelicam have rapidly got to grips with the detail in a number of extremely complex projects and programmes, and within a relatively short timeframe (typically 3-5 days per review) were able to call out the critical areas and barriers to success." (Head of Governance, Neos Networks)
As this quote shows, getting things done is at the core of what Pelicam offer. We believe it is because we only employ senior and experienced practitioners, supported by two decades plus worth of data from the £25bn worth of change we have worked on.
We all know that a major change programme will have a huge number of elements that can be improved. However, there are only a few, crucial pivot points that make the difference.
So, whilst there is absolutely nothing wrong with say 100 marginal improvements on a programme, the greatest value comes from identifying and focusing on the few that will make the difference between success and failure.
‘Focus’ is the key word here. It’s sometimes easy to be distracted by the political fires and surrounding noise. Or by the number of stakeholders, the number of people on the team, the legacy systems etc.
However, we always aim to focus fully on the root causes. It is this kind of focus that binds teams together, and which will generate forward momentum. It’s what builds quick wins and therefore team and organisational confidence. Ultimately, it delivers the full programme successfully.
We at Pelicam are grateful to have heard many versions of the quote above from our clients. They appear to appreciate our straight-talking, no-nonsense approach. One that cuts through the ‘noise’, helping teams focus on what really matters.
But we’re hungry for more such quotes. So, if any of this resonates with you, then please send me a DM, because this is the kind of work that really energises us…
